I just left Gold Creek with a big fat zero! We decided to go after work today and fished til dark with nothing to show for it, lots of boats out this evening but didnt see a lot of catching.
Tav, all in all it had to be a good trip, you got to spend time with your next generation of fisherman, I would bet you showed him a thing or two that will make him a better fisherman the next trip, whether you intended to or not, your son will one day look back into his memory files and say to himself, " I saw dad do this once and he seemed to be pretty sure about it" Conway has a way of humbling a person, I know I have been fishing it going on 39 years. The time spent with your son is way more precious than catching a mess of fish. I would like to thank you, there is nothing better than teaching the next generation.
Thanks for the kind words Guru! He's been in the boat with me for nearly 7 years now and he's not quite 8 yrs old. Just was frustrating bc he had asked to go there specifically and fished his lil tail off. He's coming into his own with it I think bc he never asked to get outta the boat after 5+ hours. Many a day he's walked/played on the bayou or lake bank as I fished along. He's read crappie.com with me too much bc he insisted on Conway lol!!!
Just tell him Welcome to the club... son. He will understand when he gets older Drew. HAHA!!!
