    Default Fun Day

I took my insurance agent and his 9 year old son out today. They were my neighbors when I lived in Batesville. Everybody that gets in my boat asks why I have the foam around my rods and today was no exception. So after fishing all morning with little luck we went back out this afternoon. I had a 4' ultra lite in one of my rod holders when a fish hammers it so hard it literally jumped up and flops over board. Well it floats for a while then goes under. So we reel the other rods up and turn around to go back and I see the tip come up above the surface. I can see that there is something still on the rod so when we get close I grab it and hand it to Austin. Well after some hard fighting he get it to the surface and I see it is a nice hybrid. I get the net under it and get it in the boat. I think he was the happiest kid that I have ever taken fishing. We ended the day with 14 crappie 4 whites and this 6# hybrid. I cleaned all the crappie and whites but he said the hybrid was gonna get mounted. All in all not a bad day.

If you look past my right elbow you can see the rod with the float on it.

That's funny, I bet that kid had that confused kid look on his face when that rod took off on y'all. Thanks for sharing!
