Default Conway this Saturday with family

I'm taking my wife and two daughters to Conway on Saturday. We don't have a boat but will hopefully be renting one again from Dan at Gold Creek. I'm not wanting anyone's honey hole for anything by any means but was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to get on some fish around Gold Creek. I have some bream spots across the lake but that's usually only good in a month or two. Are the crappie biting jigs under a cork slow rolled from the bank yet or are they still deep? My youngest daughter loves playing with crickets and minnows so I imagine I'll get some of those too. Any ideas on where to start? We'll be getting out there around 2pm Saturday afternoon. Thanks

I would start with jig/bobber or minnows out in the flat directly across from Dans. If you dont get bit there, work your way up the creek and try it around the bridges. There are a couple Cypress trees by the RR bridge that is usually good for bobber fishing.

Whats up with that flat out there? Are there stumps or brush piles out there?

We have the stumps marked with rebar.
The fish are not necessarily in the stumps but the post serve as land marks.
Not much cover other than some Lilly pad stalks.
Dan will point you in the right direction..

Not much cover in there, just a shallow flat. They are about ready to spawn so I would try it out. You will know pretty quick if they are in there or not.

I would position the boat clost to the bank and throw up the bank with a white and chart jig fished a foot and half under a cork. I would very my cast from close to the bank up to ten feet or more out an slow rool it. If you were in there last fall and can remember where the lilly pads were concentrate on that area but make sure to fish all the way aroung the cove this way. IMO fishng like this keeps your jig in the area where the fish Should be longer. Good luck and dont over look the little cove.

Ok thanks guys. By the way what the heck is a nibble? Any certain jig head size? Yea I figured it will be real busy. Might not even get a rental boat from Dan by 2 Saturday afternoon.?
