I got in them pretty good in Dec/Jan time frame. Mostly afternoon til dark. Didn't have any luck in the mornings. I haven't fished the shoe but once since then and didn't do very good, only had a hand full of keepers that day.

I fished there a couple of weeks ago and caught average size at best fishing in the pad stems about 3ft deep with a cork and grn/chart jig. nothing big, all were 7-10 inches
I have fished it a couple of times so far and have not done real well. I'm sure ill be back down there before long though. I know they are there!
Besides that, I put a GPS tracking chip in Hawgdog's boat at Taylor Bay. I'll track him to his honey hole !! Lol
I've only fished it a handful of times for crappie and I haven't found them either lol. I'm sure ill be back out there giving them another try soon.
Last year we went early like this and never had much luck either. I know it gets hot but I am always a day late and a doller shot it seems.
Crappie are snobby..... Why can't they be easy to catch...Like bass?
Anyone tried midway?
