Quick trip to Maumelle

Hit Lake Maumelle on Saturday afternoon. Got out at noon and fished until 2:30. Still adjusting from bass fishing, and whouldn't you know it, the first fish I catch is a 6-lb. largemouth. ON MAUMELLE! Managed to find two keeper black crappie in 12 ft. of water before my wife brought out my 5 year old boy for some quality time on the water. We didn't catch anything together, but had a great time eating snacks and letting him play in the livewell. I need to give Conway a shot where he can watch a minner and bobber. Swimming grubs in 12 feet dropping to 20 takes a little too much patience for him right now.
