    Default Taylor Bay tournament information:

I thought I would post a quick piece on the tournament this weekend at Taylor Bay.

I drove over there Sunday for a quick around to check things out. I spent a couple hours on the water and here were my observations:

1.) those dogs have issues! Poor trees!
2.) the water color was muddy.
3.) the river water has better clarity but a strong current.
4.) I didn't have my new graphs installed yet but my old time flasher showed deep water throughout the larger bay area.
5.) I did manage to catch a few "smaller" fish on the visible structure. ( see point # 4, thanks to a shipping error!)
6.) the only obstacles I seen where fairly shallow water in the chute leading to the bay which is a no wake zone.
7.) visible structure on the banks were in 3-7 fow.
8.) water temp was hanging around 45-48 degrees.
9.) $3 ramp fee (be sure to have this with you)
10.) did I mention the dogs had issues and the water was muddy? Lol....

I hope everyone can make it out to participate as it should be an interesting one. If I can be of any help to anyone, please feel free to call me.

To #6 I would add that there is a log after you come out of the chute and after it opens into the first bay. As best I remember its a couple of hundred yards or so after the last buoy. Unless the water comes up you can see it but you need to be looking for it.

Yes with no problem on water level. Thanks Jason and Dennis for getting this together. I hope to fish with the club 3 or 4 times this year. For those that are a little intimidated to fish with some pros like these guys I say come on and fish. I hope to get 30.00-60.00 dollars of knowledge from you guys since some of you have never fished it.I want to know what is the most important thing to look for when you go to new water and all you have is a map. Half of the lakes on the list to fish I have never seen mush less fished. I feel some of this will make me a better fisherman

That maybe yet to be seen. When I went over there the level was at 19.2 and I had to gun the 225 to get her off the trailer. It is probably because of the tandem axles though. Worse comes to worse, I'll launch at Augusta after registering at Taylor's bay. Jason might have the same problem with his ranger?

I just hope to catch a few too weigh in Saturday I have not been on Taylor bay yet looks like Saturday will be my prefishing and tournament day all in one!! In my years of fishing tournaments I have learned a whole lot more going to A new lake verses sitting on my home lake beating the same spots each trip but what I do learn on the road I use on my home lakes and have found spots and fish I would have never found without the knowledge I gained from chasing tournaments and watching and talking to competitors!! If you don't know ask!! that's my Theory!! If I can help anyone please ask me! Hope to see everyone on Saturday!!

I am headed back over there Friday to see if I can locate some bigger fish. If you see a WarEagle with a Tohatsu 40 feel free to stop
