After this rain they should bite on a slow fall near the run offs or edges also look for them suspended in the deeper section or holding on cover trolling works good most times

I'm doing some oxbow fishing this weekend. Where would you start looking for crappie on a muddy oxbow lake this time a year. I was planning on jiggin around stumps and spider rigging too. We can catch the fool outta them when the spawn is on. Just not much luck this early.

Deep is relative to the oxbow. I would agree to look for deepest water with cover close to the bottom .

Humm as said swallow, run off, muddy water warms faster then clear.
Hummm setting in truck charging phone watching tree limbs break and fall to the ground,no electric.
So this ice cold run off may put them as said deep but don't think it will, may turn them on.

Afraid this ice and cold rain with lower air temps gonna set back the water temps all over.
