What's the predicted winning weight gonna be, anyone?
I'll start this by saying that Im fairly new to crappie fishing. Ive done alot of fishing in my life but most of it has been for bass, catfish, and sometimes bream when they were on the beds. Id catch the occasional crappie or catch em pretty good every now and then if I hit the spawn just right but never really just fished for crappie year round. Heck, I never fished for anything year round cause once October got here I was in the woods bowhuntin' and I never fished in the spring till it started getting pretty warm.
So Im not fishing this tournament expecting to win. Hopefully I wont get skunked but if I do it wont be the first time. It happened a week or two ago when I went to Taylor Bay to check it out since Id never been there before.
Ive never had much luck in cold or muddy water and that lake is cold AND muddy. :banghead
I imagine some of the more experienced guys wont have much trouble but Im not sure I even know where to start. I think itll be fun and a learning experience though and Ive got a feeling Im gonna meet some pretty good people so Im gonna give it a shot. :ThumbsUp
I bet it's gonna take prob 8.5 on what I've seen come out of there but all this water might throw a big curve in that.
A 2 foot rise in the river will make it interesting to say the least
So far it has not even risen 1/10 of an inch since yesterday.

At this point, does it matter. I have lines ready to get wet. It don't matter what kind of water I drop it in. I have minnows - jigs - short poles - long poles - Minner critters -C&C rigs- tube- feathers - and slip corks. Lets go fishing!
I agree it won't matter. But I do like to know what I'm about to get into so I can be prepared. I should have said in my earlier post that if the forecasted rise of 2 feet happens, it will be interesting.
