Hello, my name is Jeremy. I has been reading these forums for awhile and decided to start posting. I took up crappie fishing last spring and so far have been to Blue Mountain, Wister, Greeson, and Dardenell. I didn't cath any fish on Greeson or Dardenell I was mostly just exploring. I am not great at finding my own spots on new bodies of water I suppose I need to learn my Hummingbird 170 more so I can recognize hit spots. I also have fished the Arkansas river but never caught crappie in the river. I jug and bass fish the river. I have tried my hand at crappie twice on clear creek with no results. I am only in my 2nd year of crappie fishing but I am getting addicted. I got 15 crappie today and can't wait until next time!
Nice catch, was the water still muddy?
Very muddy, I put in at Hise Landing and went maybe 100yds towards the lake. I tried hitting an old treetop we smacked em on last time around but it has drifted on. I tooled around for a few hours catching dinkers at 1'6" maybe 5 foot off the bank then moved towards the no wake zone. Found a tree top and fished 10 foot deep and started catching quality keepers.
Nice I will be there tomorrow morning

Not sure on the snagging kayak, I stay on the other end of the lake from there, but I would think there is a little water going through there finally
Nice catch did you catch them on jig or minnows If you see a red express with a 175 mercury stop and say hello.
I caught them on minnows with a slip bobber setup. That is what I was taught last year and although I have tried jigs I never have had any luck. I would love to go with someone who jigged just so I could learn a new skill. I am a sponge for knowledge so any advice is welcome. I have surfed the older threads and read alot but I am pretty hard headed I usually have to see it and do it before I get it.
Also I drive a 1654 Tracker with a 30 horse Johnson on back. Feel free to dock up beside me if you see me even if I'm catching them I wont care if you throw a bobber next to mine. I had two slackers back out on me today so I only had my dog to keep me company.
