Hey everyone, I saw another delayed introduction and figured it was time I introduce myself as well. Name's Aaron, I've been hanging around for a couple months here trying to soak up some information. I'm not too familiar with the water down here and have only been fishing around here for less than a year so I have been going out pretty much blind without much luck for the most part. I am from Iowa so my favorite fishing is done on top of frozen water! I recently got myself a 1436 an a few accessories so I am looking forward to the spring weather! When I do go out I spend most of my time between Lake Maumelle, Little Maumelle River, and Conway. I am learning that these are bodies of water that can be pretty difficult to fish with no knowledge. I can't catch them to save my life, but I sure don't get discouraged, as long as I am out of the house and outdoors I am happy. I look forward to learning some new things on here and meeting some new folks!

All men are created equal, some work harder in the preseason.

Welcome from Lonoke County. Some info on Lake Maumelle, the fish structures hold fish out there. In a few weeks, above the Hwy 10 bridge will get good with white bass. The fish structure GPS coordinates can be found at http://www.agfc.com/resources/fishin...e_maumelle.pdf

I implanted from Texas about 20 years ago. I found the Arkansas waters to be imtimidating at first. It took me about three years to get over that "new to the area" feeling.
I hope you will make it to crappie camp in April.

Welcome from NLR. I'll probably see you around in some of those places. Haven't been to lake Maumelle, though. I hear you have to dodge the sail boats.

jt1970, No problem with the sail boats on Maumelle. They usually are over deep water in the middle of the lake where few people want to fish anyway. I've been around the lake since 1976 and have never heard of a problem between fisherman and sail boats. Maumelle is a challenge to crappie fish as it has large areas with no structure. Having good electronics and GPS are helpful.
Welcome from another former Iowan, although I have lived in Arkansas for better than half my life now.
