    Default Horseshoe lake questions

Going to be coming down March 8-10 and was going to fish Sardis a few days or in that general area.
I duck hunt near Horseshoe lake every year and thought i might try it. It sure looks good and my buddies down there say its pretty good crappie fishing but they tend to run on the small side.
Where i am from we catch 10-12 inch range on our keepers.
I have 20ft bass boat so i am limited to the lakes i can fish.
I would sure appreciate any info or advice on Horseshoe or any other lake for crappie in that general area.

I mainly dock shoot horseshoe. Haven't had much luck trolling there. You will catch alot of small fish, but there are some good ens and you can catch numbers there. The limit is 50 a person, so that should tell you that there are plenty. Here are a few I caught last spring and this fall at horseshoe

I need to follow you around dock shooting I only caught baby fish when I shot them last year mostly on the east end of the lake past the big concrete dock.

I usually catch lots of fish trolling the Shoe this time of year. I haven't been this year, but you can wear em out trolling. I live about 10 miles from it and its good fishing. I've been going further south this year, but don't overlook Horseshoe.

I'm going to fish the shoe more this year. Really need to learn the lake. I'm going to put myself in the poor house dragging my boat back and forth to Wabash.

I cant help anyone very much on horseshoe but I can say I have fished right next to a fella that was wearing them out in the pads. We talked to him and fished the same tackle but still could not catch them like he did. I think it was around June. I bet we saw him catch 15 fish in 30 mins.

I've only done fair around the docks but never done that good anyways.
