A Not So Good Report (as far as crappie)

Since all the Conway/Gold Creek guys have good reports I thought I would give yall an area with a bad report!! Went to Bald Knob Lake this afternoon and caught 1 beautiful crappie about 8 inches long!! Only bite!! Hopefully I can bring better news from White Indepence and Jackson Counties soon.

Every fisherperson has those type days from time to time and most of us keep doing the same thing changing baits and colors,size baits and wt..My partner and I are bad at fishing the same way over and over while knowing its not working.I tell him all time we need to do this or that in another way of fishing b/c this eay isn't working and he says yeah we do.But we keep fishing the same way all day while both of knows it would be a great day for drop shot.I know fish get what we call lockjaw but most of us cann't set still long enough to catch a miss by changing the we fish.I think the reason some of us do the same way without changing is b/c crappie or bad about turning and off though out the day.We think sooner or later they will turn on to our way of fishing at some point during the day.We both like casting and will cast all day changing size and colors though out the day not catching while knowing a drop shot may work better for that day.Most of us want take the time to change the style or the way we fish b/c we think the next cast will be a winner the next one will be for sure only at the end of the day not much in the cooler to show for it.

Dont feel bad, my buddy got skunked on Gold Creek yesterday. He said nobody was catching.

I fished last Monday and didn't catch a thing. It still beat being at work!

2 weeks ago I drove 250 miles to catch nothing. It happens to all of use. The only reason it seems to happen a lot is because we fish every week year around.

Y'all need to remember my motto, "A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work!!!" I never had a day of fishing I didn't enjoy...... I just enjoy some of them more than others!!!
