Default New Rod Holders (Thx To RCC)

I have been thinking about putting some holders on the back of my 15 42 jon, but been having a hard time finding something I like. RCCs post gave me an idea, so I made up some yesterday. I haven't mounted them yet but I think they will work fine.

BTW, the holders are a $2.99 special at Academy. I will probably upgrade those later if the bases work out the way I want them to.

That's the style of rod holder I use. I dipped the "hoop" and the "U" in plastic-dip to prevent the rod holder from scraping my rods up. It also helped to quiet down the rod holders.

Are you going to use them like RCC did in the slot down the side? If so, they look like they're on the wrong side of the bracket. Not trying to a smart arse, just wondering.

That was the original plan, but they sat too low for the holders to clear the top of the rail, so I flipped it over so the bracket will sit on top. It would have been fine if I had a taller holder but I liked the low profile of the shorter ones.
