Gots me a new Humminbird 587. It was a buddy deal and beggars can't be choosers. Still learnin how to properly read it but I have found out it will show your jig! If nothing else that's cool as it gets!

    Also...
Got a like new Minnkota Power Drive 55. Not sure how I am going to like this different foot pedal. As of now I HATE it.
    Might splurge for the copilot!

Awesome. You'll enjoy both items. I get a kick out of the sonar stuff. I was showing off some side imaging pics up on the imaging board and made a comment about the pic having lines. They pointed out to me that it was the lines I was fishing with. At the time I was side pulling cranks from toward the front of the boat and the SI transducer was on the back.

Go have some fun and enjoy the new stuff.

Spend the money and get Ipilot instead of copilot. Way more features and well worth the money.

I just got my 587 put on the boat a couple days ago but have yet to get on the water with it. I ran through all the menus it offers already though and can't wait to play with it some. While in the shower tonight I was thinking of how I might drop off our 2 small dogs at the groomers come Monday and tell her take your time I'm going about 5 more miles to the lake to try out this new finder. Do you have the lakes chip for it yet?? I hear there are several ones out now. All I ever knew was navitronics which I've got on my Iphone and love it.....hoping I can copy all my marked spots off it to a chip in my depth finder once I buy the chip that way I won't have to carry the phone on the water and risk dropping it all the time. Somebody on here mentioned you can get the navitronics for the Iphone for only 14.99 which I did and have loved it ever since.

    No maps.
I fish Conway 99.999999% of the time. I would not benefit from the maps.

Well it's not really about knowing how to get around on lakes I fish when it comes to the maps, it's about putting me back on that exact spot out in the middle of nowhere where I sunk that brush pile or marked fish at one time. Yeah I've been in the boat with buddy's as they use there's to navigate but for me it's more about the marking of spots out in open water too.

I can store waypoints as it is...
I'm not sure what your getting at.

When I turn the nav on it shows the lake with the waypoints I have stored.
