You should do well with the meal worm. I went to a grizzly jig seminar a couple years back and some of the pros were doing that.

Have any of yall tried tipping your gigs with mealworms? I found a site on line to order, 500 1" live meal worms for 13.50 delivered.
Going to give them a try. I'm moved to Arkansas from Ohio 30 years ago and use to ice fish with mealworms and caught bream, crappie
and bass>

They actually mentioned it this year as well.
I'm sure if it will work through the ice, it should help especially on those slow days!If you do try them let us all know how you did! Can't you get those mealworms dyed different colors also?

Only place I've ever used them was trout fishing on the Little Red, but I don't see why they wouldn't work on crappie. Stick a couple of those puppies on right behind the head and watch them dudes wiggle!! Give us a report when you try them.
My wife keeps saying I never listen to her....... or something like that!
I have been using them a couple of years on lake washington when I have been jig fishing in the cypress trees!!!
