Mallard is a hell hole. Fish are smarter in that lake.

I saw some monsters come out of there a few years back. Dude said he'd caught some biguns. His buddies at the hardware store said prove it so he went home and got em and brought them back. Heads off, they were about 11/12 inches.

After the last big rain, we finally had water available to pump and back flow. We have been working our butts off the last couple of weeks to get water in the lake. If we can keep the pump running, we will continue to pump when the water is available. If we get the amount of rain they are predicting this week, we might be able to back flow some more water from the adjacent woods. This is by far the quickest way to fill the lake up.

This upcoming spawn should be outstanding with all the available cover for the fish to spawn in and the fry to hide in.

Sorry for the inconvenience over the past year at Mallard Lake.

Im glad to hear some news from the other side of things. I know water has been in short supply and Im glad to see the lake coming up. There are some change I think should be made on that lake to make for better fishing.

I think that there should be a length limit for the crappie. Just like the Bass there should be a minimum length that you can keep, also make it a 15 fish limit.

I dont mean to start a gripe session I just believe that Mallard Lake gets alot of pressure for its size and everyone keeps everything they catch no matter what and thats why that lake is dead after March every year.

After Mallard being with very little water all last year and the people constantly bringing out limits of 30 fish, I'll be surprised if a person can find fish the next 2 years.

Glad the pipe finally got fixed and the water finally is coming up. Is it true the pipe was ordered from California and was defective?
