I snagged a few good hand shakes today.
Steve Coleman, Creekslick, Ski Trip, MDperson and spouse, and Wally Marshall. I hope some of their fish catching mojo rubbed off. I had a great time visiting and laughing with the great folks from AR C.C and was introduced to a few new crappie.com'ers (Mrs Crappie Stalker, Yikes, and the young Missouri dude. Wayne, what was his handle?)whose posts I have read and enjoyed over the years.
It appears that the fishing was good at the show and jigs seemed to be doing well catching lots of fishermen, many of whom were trophy sized. The best salesman of the whole show was the little guy at the Lake Fork booth who worked his magic and snagged several fishermen with no help from the adults. I did get to visit with Mrs. Lake Fork jigs and passed along some kind words for being a sponsor of the AR Fall Crappie camp. She then passed along to me some of Jason W's (aka Dale Jr.) secret fishing tips which I will guard until death unless someone asks me for them.
Even though being a wiley fisherman myself, I did fall prey to the plethora of jigs offered and did buy a couple of items. A few of these table/ammo/primer bulb were picked up at another unnamed fishing hole.

All men are created equal, some work harder in the preseason.

A fisherman needs to keep up his strength so we had to stop at a place we had never eaten called the "Cajun Cafe" at Paragould. Carol and I shared an appetizer of crawfish, shrimp, boudain sausage, meat pies, froglegs and some sweet tea (we each had our own glass of tea), and boy was it ever good. We plan on trying this place again which is only seasonally open.
I sure enjoyed the day and hope all others did as well.

It is east of Paragould on 412, south side of the road just a little bit east of the 135 junction. It looks rough on the outside, but is OK inside. We fortunately got there before the crowd. Lady at the counter, apparently the owner, said it fills up come late evening time. I can believe it. I know we'll go back.
Yes, Gindog, you should have come on over and joined in. Good times in MO.![]()

It's a couple of miles outside the city limits of Paragould on 412 going toward Missouri. It would of been on your right as you were heading to Grizzly. On Thursday nights during season they have a $25 all you can eat night on crawfish.

I had a buddy who went to Poinsett today. Think he said they kept around 25 or so and caught maybe double that. As usual there wasn't much size to em. He said most of the fish they kept were in the 9 to 9.5 range.
