Got a permit last week from the Norfork COE. To start with the permit expires April 16th, 2013. You are allowed to cut six (6) cedar trees from the bank of the lake and no tree can be larger than 6" at the base.and I had to show them on a map about where I was going to sink them. Only native stones , picked up along the shoreline of the lake may be used as anchors to sink the trees. You have to have the permit in your boat at the time of the so-called tree sinking. And lastly the trees must be sunk in 20-25 ft. of water using conservation pool as the level.
I asked about bambo and they said NO-WAY. Why don't all corp. lakes have the same rules ? Needless to say I am no going to waste my time putting only 6 cedar trees in their stinking lake. You can not even bring a Christmas tree from your house and put in the lake!!!I know the COE lakes are all about generation But they could be a little more friendly to the fishermen. Even though the COE built the Dam it is our land that it is on and our water or could I be wrong
. What harm could a little bambo and cement do to that lake. All opinions are welcome.
