Was long line trolling a roadrunner when this 11 lb 4 oz. flathead decided he wanted it. Had a heck of a battle, about 15 minutes on a 4 1/2 ft. ultralight with 6lb. test line. Lot of fun and good eating too!

Even more impressive is that white t-shirt....even on the belly! I'd have fish blood and guts all over that.

Way to go, Jerry. I bet you needed a break after getting him in the boat. You said that you were longlining spinners. Are the crappie spooked by the boat or are you trying other techniques? I know that's a little more laid back than casting. What lake were you fishing?

Hey Ceb, fishing the same old place. Caught several at shelters but they were'nt as big as we were catching. Decided to troll from 6 to 5 and just threw the roadrunner out behind the boat and caught the flathead, had a good fight. Have you done any good casting up there, I have seen where you have been catching a lot of good crappie, congrats. Hope you can come to fall crappie camp.

I haven't done too much casting, simply because I haven't found a honey hole that I thought would allow it. Here lately, I've been fishing the deepest water I can find out on that stretch of the river.

I have an exam on that Friday before crappie camp, so I will be at Greeson that weekend. Hope to see you there.
