Charity Tournament?

Since we are talking about tournaments, I thought about a thread I read recently on the main board. Would anyone be interested in doing a tournament with a portion of the money going to help a person or organization in need? There would still be prizes for the winners. I would be willing to help in any way but would have to leave the specifics to someone who is more qualified/experienced. Just a suggestion.

That would b pretty cool but money only goes so far... personally i think if we got a club together and got into the swing of things we could have an annual tournament where everybody brings like a father son or mother or son or daughter etc. Tht has never had the oppurtunity to go fishing and take them out and let them fish in your boat and let tht family take home the prize money along with memories tht would last a lifetime..

That's kinda what we do at the fall and spring fish camps

I was thinking more along the lines of an organized event to benefit an organization or say, someone struggling with cancer. Sort of like the guided trips that were donated a while back, just on a larger scale.

O ok amd yea i need to go to camp havent made it to one yet

A certain member which may or may not wished to be named suggested a scholarship fund tournament. He asked if I would consider running a benefit tournament to give out a scholarship each year starting with my friend Fern's grandchild. He was offe'n a little start up money donation also. Would anyone like to do this. I have too many things going and don't care for tournaments much anymore.

That would work. As I said, I dont know much about organizing a tournament but I will help any way I can.
