    Default Greers Ferry Crappie

Headed to a friends lake house in Edgemont this weekend to relax a little. We won't have a boat with us but there is stumps and timber in the cove behind the house. I heard the water has came up some. Not sure how much just yet? Was thinking of trying to use some minnows under a cork in the cove. Any suggestions on depth or size of minnows, color, etc? It was 5-10' in the cove before the rain came in. Was hoping someone knows a trick for Greers without having a boat. Thanks

I don't know know tricks or secrets about greers ferry, but I know a tip that will greatly increase your odds, and that would be to just go cast a bait in the water. You might PM creekslick or petercreek and get some valuable tips.

You can go to the Lacy's boat dock in the narrows and ask them sometimes they will let you fish!!!! Good luck!!!!

That's plan A. Didn't know if there were any size minnows or colors that worked best. I don't spend much time up there. Thanks

Greers has come up 6'+ with the rain we got over the weekend. It is muddy on the North end right now and it's starting to muddy through the Narrows. I have never tried to bank fish here but if I were gonna fish it this weekend I would cast minners under a slip cork. I would start out fishing about 8' deep and go deeper until I starting getting bit.

Thanks. Any specific size or color of minnow with the water being stained? Or just plain jane minnows? I'm new to crappie fishing and hope to contribute some good pics to the forum in the next couple of months.

Plain jane minners. You may want to bring some with you the bait shot in Greers Ferry has not been open since Christmas.

Does Laceys not have bait? Guess I'll call them first. If not I'll get some here. Thanks
