Default Minn Kota power drive w/Copilot

I'm look at purchasing the a MinnKota power drive and getting the Copilot remote to go with it. I can't afford the Terrova with Autopilot unfortunately. Is the Copilot worth it? Seems to me that it would be. What y'all think?

You can get the V2 Powerdrive with I-Pilot.

Yeah, and a whole lot cheaper. Got one on my trout boat and it works good for keeping the boat straight drift fishing. Don't know if I would want it on my crappie boat. For me, it's easier to control the boat fishing like I do with a foot control. Might have more usefulness for trolling.
My wife keeps saying I never listen to her....... or something like that!

I don't have the electronics to use the I-pilot unfortunately and without them, I don't see me being able to use all the features that make it worth having. I don't think I can talk my wife into letting me get a new trolling motor and fish finder at the same time. It would be nice though. Don't want to push my luck with my wife just yet!

Crappie and occasionally bream and catfish. I run yo yos and trotlines as well. I want to try spider rigging in the spring so at least a foot control for ease of use. This hand control trolling motor I have now has been a lifesaver, but it's time for an upgrade!

well you dont have to have electronics to use the ipilot. I have a pd V2 which I added the copilot to. Then took it off and installed the ipilot (in your original post you must be thinking of the ilink) anyway. the copilot will save you about 300 bucks over the ipilot but imo it is worth the extra 300 bucks to get it. On the ipilot I use the autopilot and cruise control (cruise more than anything) but the best part is the speed which is twice as adjustable as the copilot. hope this helps.

Terror is the best purchase I have ever made for spider rigging.
