I've never fished the red that far down stream period. And, I've never fished it specifically for crappie either. However, last June I was flyfishing above the swinging bridge launch area and I caught an 11" black crappie. Don't know if they are stocked in there or if that one was a fluke. I've got about 10 years experience of fishing on the red and that's the only one I've ever caught or witnessed being caught. But once again, I've never fished the lower warmer areas of the river.

Not the first time I have heard of crappie coming from this area.
