I used to know people who could do boat repair but I haven't been in the auto body field in a few years. I do body work myself but only once on a boat. I think repairing fiberglass on a boat is similar to fixing a fiberglass beside on a truck only you have to add a gel coat with the boat. That's where I would be lost. Never really messed with gel coat. If I can run across an old contact, I'll let ya know. I'd do it for ya but like I said, the gel coat is where I would have trouble.
A man is truly blessed, when he returns home from fishing to be greeted by the best catch of his life.

I really have no plans for the gel coat to go back. My thoughts were to sand it back to as close to original then shoot it with automotive paint to match the color of the gel coat. It's a pretty old boat and don't plan to put that kind of time in it. I o ly use it o. Lakes that are generally rough on boats. It's a 2002 model that's never been pampered in it's life. It sets outside in the weather and elements all of it's life. The top cap of the boat is sun faded and chalky. It's a fishing boat with potential.

can you post some picture of it. I always wonder what lake conway would do to a glass boat at 65mph. Deep_fried_crappie can do good glass work on a truck bedside back in the day. His work even made its way into a magazine.

This has nothing to do with speed and lake conway, This has to do with morons who like to yo yo fish for crappie. They hammer steel into the top of the stump to hang lazy man fishing devices from and leave it till it rusts off. Then when someone in a glass boat drives up onto the stump, the rebar, it pokes thru the hull, then there is only one way off of the stump and steel(rebar) and thats to just drive it off, thus resulting in a big gash in the fiberglass hull. You guys that are scared of lake conway should know that there is way more dangers out there than going fast. I have never tore up a boat by going fast or hiting a stump in lake conway. All of the damages I have incurred on lake conway in the last twenty plus years has been inflicted by other morons that dont think for them selves, or about other peoples equipment and property. I dont mind posting pictures of the damages, but please be correct about what caused the damages, then when I post the pictures you will know the whole story.
