X2 or drive 30 more minutes and hit Dardanelle. There aren't any "Crappie" lakes in Hot springs that I know of.

If you can make it from any where in Hot springs or surrounding area to lake Dardanelle in 30 extra minutes of driving, watch out the law man will be looking for you. you probably would not have a drivers license after he got done with ya. The most direct route to Dardanelle from Hot Springs is hwy 7 and it is 1hr.40mins away, if you choose to use the interstate 2hrs. and 20 minutes from Hot Springs.

If you read my post you will see that i was agreeing with natgear's suggestion to fish Greeson(X2), which is about 1 hr and 15 minutes from Hot Springs. Or he could drive about 30 minutes MORE and hit Dardanelle, which would be right at 1hr and 45 minutes.

Don't over look Nimrod or Harris Brake. Dardanelle has been hot in the winter/spring. Best hot weather lake is Nimrod.

Lake Ouachita is a very good crappie lake north west of Hot Springs, but it is also very big and deep in areas. Don't let anybody tell you that those other lakes around Hot Springs are not good crappie lakes either because they are I have friends from that area and they catch crappie on Hamilton, Greeson, DeGray and Ouachita consistently. If you would like to know a little about Dardanelle I could probably help you with that just pm me.
