Thanks Jerry, you really put out a lot of effort to make Crappie Camp successful, I really appreciate it. I wanted to get there for the beginning of camp, but we are having a shutdown next week so I probably will drive up early Saturday morning. I'll probably stay till Monday afternoon. Look forward to seeing everybody.

I'll probly drive up Saturday...And try to find a place to setup tent for a couple of days...
-
We can have one RV and one tent or two tents on each campsite so we can double up on campsites to save money. If folks will let us know they have room at their site for another tent we'll post a list for those coming in.

Hey Jerry or Darryl. Don't know if you have to start a new thread or not. But can we ask to who all is coming and maybe let us start gettin a game plan.

Looks right now as if I am out for Crappie Camp. I "might" get to run over Sunday - Tuesday, but I can't count on it for sure. Thanks to Mr. Jerry Blake for the GPS he provided me on my trip this past Sun - Tues. However, they didn't hold many fish. I figure the front moving through had alot to do with our success. I got camp set up Sun afternoon right in time for the bottom to fall out of the sky. It rained non-stop until Monday afternoon. HOWEVER, me and JohnR was on the water at 7 am. Dedication? I had rather call it ignorance :D I got to meet Mr. Blake (after they had boated 50 crappie of course). After running the water out of my boat on 4 different occasions, (no bildge pump) and JohnR falling into the lake (his rainsuit didn't work to well while swimming :D) we managed to rustle up enough crappie and bass for supper. We will definately attempt to conquer Lake Greeson at a later date for sure AFTER planning around the weather :p

Hey Allan:
It was great to meet you Sunday evening. Good to hear you survived all the rain. I was surprised that Greeson didn't come up a lot more than it did but I guess most of the rain soaked in.
I didn't fish Monday or Tuesday but I bet they were a bit slow after that front went through. I heard the bass turned on late yesterday afternoon.
I thought we might wear the crappie out today with another front approaching but they were pretty scattered. We had to move a lot and were lucky to catch more than a couple keepers on any one condo and got skunked on quite a few.
If this next cold front cools us down like it's expected to the crappie should be in the mood for some serious thumping when Crappie Camps starts in a week.
We’ll have a list of coordinates ready by this weekend that hopefully will hold fish through Crappie Camp. If conditions change we’ll post some coordinates during Crappie Camp as well. We’re hoping everyone can get a good mess of crappie while they are here.

Fall crappie camp,
Jerry,
First off, I appreciate all of your hard work in preparing such a big event. There are very few people who are as gracious as you and Darryl are when it comes to information. That says alot. We are in Arkadelphia so if I can get the wife away from Millwood for just one weekend :D we may make it down there. She likes to get on the water by sunup and leave after sundown so you may never see us though. 12 hours is about right for her. She won't even let me relax!!!!!!!!! Quote Why aren't you fishing, we came out here to fish? end quote (8 hours into trip). Take care!!!!!

I 100% agree with spikles2. Jerry and Darryl are extremely gracious to say the least. These guys make a living by catching crappie. They provided me with waypoints for this past weekend so I could have a better chance of catching fish....for FREE! I guess they could be considered "pushers" in a sense. Give you just enough to get you HOOKED for free! Surely worked for me. Already saving my money for a guided trip!

For me, Crappie Camp isn't about getting out there and learning all about where brushpiles are on Lake Greeson or even catching a boatload of crappie. It's about getting out there with a group of folks that love the sport just as much as you do. I've made a couple of good friends through this, and that means more to me than say catching a limit by my self out on Greeson every Saturday morning.

CEB,
WOW, quite a response. By information I mean how many campsites there are, where to get bait, how many people are coming pretty much getting everybody together in one place at one time and being cordial about doing it. That is not an easy task in itself. I have never had the privledge of meeting these men but they bend over backwards for ANYONE on this site and I respect that.
I echo your sediments exactly. I don't even have a depth finder on my boat so brushpiles or condos mean nothing to me. I am interested in the opportunity to meet people who have the same interests me and my wife have: that is fishing period. If I offended you I appologize.
