Very helpful. Thanks for bringing it to the top. Most times I fish when I can.

Most us are going to fish when we get the chance regardless of weather , but it can help you start to figure them out. Like it said on bluebird skies barometric pressure puts them tight in the cover. Those fish usually in a neutral mood but can be caught if your willing to bump them on the nose in heavy cover. I love to target Crappie tight on wood in midday on dog days when some say they are not biting. Target the right cover and fish slow cause they will be deep in the shaded spots. They tend to be deeper unless lack of oxygen keeps them shallow. Deep is relative to body of water your fishing. Where I fish 6 to 9' can be deep in hot summer because of low oxygen. It can get to where bait fish and Crappie will even move to 4' water if oxygen becomes an issue in hot weather . Always if what your doing is not working , don't be stubborn. Slow down and be willing to change depths, locations , or whatever cause finding the fish is 95% of catching them. I have seen many times 2' difference in depth will make all the difference. Another reason we have 500+ Crappie tops (pallets , stakebeds, bamboo, brushpiles, pvc ) out here in all kinds of depths.

Thank you for the article and views. I ask about barometric pressure and it's relation to fishing on the Mississippi forum last year. They told me to just go fishing. G did give me his thoughts. Understanding any tool has got to help build knowledge.
    Tell'em I'll be there.
