Default A Cooler Full From Lake Hamilton

Ok, so once again they're green carp, but man they're biting good. It's been over a month or better since i've been crappie fishing. Fall is a busy time for me, so I don't get to go as often as I would like. Dad (Boatbuilder) and I managed to slip over to Hamilton to catch a few green carp this weekend though. It's kind of a tradition to go over there a few times each year.

Good catch any size to them ? What did you catch them on, Crankbaits ?

We had a couple of smaller ones and the one big fish, but most were in the good eating size of 1.5-2.0 lbs. If the big one had been any bigger we'd have thrown it back...just to be on the safe side with mercury worries, & Hamilton not being the cleanest lake, etc.

No crankbaits, and sorry I won't give you much more than that. Although I've heard that people are catching them on crankbaits too, I've never fished with one myself.

I hope most of y'all know I normally include more details with my reports, but this is a specific style I was taught and don't feel comfortable sharing. I'm always glad to answer crappie questions about Degray.

Nothing wrong with catching those fish. I like it when a bass fisherman is ahead of me gettin the bass out of the way so I can catch crappie. Hope you clean the lake out!!

Were you fishing by brush close to the shore?
