I met my buddy over on Dierks lake this morning and we had to switch ramps after discovering Blue Ridge boat ramp was silted in and we couldn't launch. We made the drive all the way around the lake to put in near the dam but didn't find any fish so the day turned into a brush setting day. All in all we fixed 9 places with cut cedar tops and most places we sunk multiple tops. It was a lotta work but maybe it'll pay off this Spring. My buddy and his dad have already put brush on Gillham lake last week and me and my dad plan to do that same over there. These two lakes are not extremely good crappie lakes but they are close to our folks who we fish with a lot and from what I"ve seen they are better than the big deep clear water Hot Springs area lakes. Really amazing how low our lakes have gotten....We sure could use some rain or these lakes may be low going into the Spring even.
