I am very fortunate to have the means to fish pretty much when I want to, meaning having the funds and time to be able to do so. I also am blessed with great sponsors who are very supportive of my favorite habit and a VERY understanding and supportive family. I also, most of the time, through trial and error and natural instinct have the ability to catch good limits of fish and good quality.
With these type of blessings, I am wanting to give back, much like I do every year with my annual free of charge guided trips to or military men and women which I have been doing now for over 4 years. So this is what I am thinking.......
I want to do a "silent auction" of sorts where the highest bidder will enjoy the following: 1 day of a completely free guided fishing trip, meaning I will supply boat, gas, poles, bait, snacks, drinks and all the fish caught during that day. The highest bidder will also receive 1 free ozark rod, an array of Midsouth tackle, Midsouth apparel and a Crappieholics polo shirt sporting the logo "Crappie for a Cause 2012". All fish will be prepared (filleted) by me and packaged in a zip lock bag for your travel home.
All proceeds from the "Crappie for a Cause" event will go to a local charity such as Arkansas Childrens Hospital, a local child cancer research center, local food bank center or similar charity of your choice.
Here's how this will work: PM me your bid on this package through the forum along with your real name and telephone number and I will accept bids through the 14th of November at 6
:00 pm. At 6:15 on the 14th, I will contact the winner and after verifying and making contact with the winner, I will post the winners name on the forum. We will then make arrangements to meet up and go fishing based on your availability and weather. It doesn't get any easier than this.
There are no rules to this event except if you bid, please make good on your word as this a worthy cause to help the children of our community with some much needed funds.
As a kicker, most of you have seen my post the past couple of weeks where I have been catching some very good fish, several over 2 lbs and even a few around the 2.5 lb range. I have intentionally not posted what lake I have fished in hopes to build the excitement for this event. I will take the winner of this event to the exact lakes and spots I caught these extremely nice limits. I will also show you the why, how and where these slabs have been taken.
Thanks for reading and the let the bidding begin.
