some of the advantages are you can cover a lot of water .moving at .3-.5 mph in 8 hrs. allows you to cover almost 4 miles of water. with 14ft poles out front and sides covers a 35ft path. traget suspended and scattered fish a good delph finder allows you to see the shad and the crappie will be underneath. setting your lines just above the fish allows you to stay in the strike zone. fish over brush,staake beds and ledges. crappie love all three . spidder riggin puts and holds your bait directly over these areas, this is were the fish will be.crappie travel in schools,spidder riggin keeps you on the schools. you can catch a lot of fish this way.with 6-8 poles increases your chances and allows you to catch your limit much faster.fishing live bait is one of the least expensive ways to catch fish. spider riggin is easy to learn,this technique is one of the quickest to master, it just takes PRACTICE!!!! now some of the disadvantages . multiple pole get tangled its easy one uncontrolled fish can cause a wreck. the long poles takes time to learn to land a fish,don't lift a big fish with the pole always use a net. riggin the boat effective spider riggin requires both pearsons to fish out the front and the two rod racks and a good depth finder with gps and aerating your live bait is a must . if we are fishing a tour. we use pure oxygen. this makes the minnows lively,they will literaly jump out of your hand. if i am fun fishing i use a 12volt aerator. and long pole are easily broken if you are not carefull. now the conclusion . there are many ways to catch crappie in shallow water, but i personally think spider riggin minnows and minnow critters is one of the top fish catching techniques. the right lake,right area when you find those hold on and get ready for some great fun!!!!!!! i am no expert but these things work for me and hope it help some of you also!!!!
