Myself and my wife have been stroking the Black Crappie here on Conway and I have noticed the bite is picking up. I have been verticle jigging trees along the east main lake bank. My wife was using a slip bobber with a 1/32 oz MeatGetter white n Chart jig tipped with a nibble. Have had to move around till we found the right group of trees, but when you do you can put a hurt'in on em. Very important to keep your jig within a foot of the bottom pitch it in let it set just off the bottom for a few seconds and slowly just pull the jig out away from the trees or deep shadow pocket's you find in the trees. My wife was killing me with her bobber rig LOL. Do not impart any action to the jig or bobber, they want it slow and easy as it leaves the pockets in the trees or just slowly drifting by the tree, Then BAM they hammer it. All these were caught in trees 5-6 feet deep. Tight Lines Cant wait to get back out there. The Fall bite on Conway is getting underway, but it still is mainly a main lake bite. This will change shortly for Conway. Guys been getting some good reports from HWY89 bridge area also, may try it next time im out and about.
