My dad told me a story one time about him and my uncle on White River over at Newark. They pulled up to a drift and was gonna tie to a log, and it swam off. It was an alligator gar close to 6' long.

A guy up here was dragging cypress trees out of the river and sawing them up for lumber. He drug one up to his sawmill and put it on the saw, but realized it was hollow and had one of those big alligator gar stuck inside of it. He went ahead and ran it through the saw and ended up with 2 fillets 12 feet long.

    Catahoula06,

Same for me. Fishing was alot better in June than July surf fishing in Perdido Key. Mo's folks are good about telling you what is biting and on what. My son and I were killing them in June. July slowed down quite a bit.
