Try Nimrod Lake, we catch lots of Crappie and Catfish. Goose and I caught 3 Catfish along with a mess of Crappie on jigs Tuesday.

My buddy with the AGFC ran nets at OUachita in the beginning of the summer. They caught like 4 hundred something fish and almost all were blue cats - He said average weight was about 40 lbs but they had one that weighed 115. This maybe your brush pile inhabitants.

Given some coordinates, I would be glad to dive on that spot to investigate what is running out and breaking off your line.

I recall many years ago my Dad had sunk a large bundle of cane in a partialy submerged Bois de Arc tree in Bois de Arc Lake. One day he sunk a large coffee can with holes it full of soured corn at that spot. We kept going down there crappie fishing with minnows and getting our gold Aberdeen hooks straightend out and our lines broke. One day Him and my Mother showed up at my house with a 13 pound Blue Cat. He had finally landed him.
