Fishing was tough here too! I started out baiting Catfish and building more brushpiles. Wind was awful and west end of lake so muddy jigs disappeared about 2'' under. Fished most of the day fighting winds and small fish. Did finish up with a limit of 10 to 13'' Crappie. Nice out except the wind and a small storm passing. Saw Geese , Teal, Deer, and Turkey.

Try catching a limit of Catfish without bunching them up. I like to see them caught without using trotlines and they only bunch up here if there is feed. Crappie piles bunch Crappie and there are lots more of them. Makes it good when you take kids and begineers so they can catch large #'s of fish. Makes it all worth it to see a couple kids reel in a pile of Catfish. I'm baiting those spots now for kids and ladies at camp next week.

Most folks don't fish for trash fish like Catfish . Methods are totally different. If I could catch limits of Catfish with a jig and no bait you bet I would but it ain't gonna happen.

Man i love it when you guys get him riled up! Hey Nimrod, its funny to hear a guy that'll eat Buffalo call catfish trash. Especially when you catch more in one summer than i've caught in my entire life! Just sayin.
