We got enough expertise on this board to make crappie extinct if they'd just turn us all loose at the same time with no limits. Rofl
And to answer your question asked on another part of this board, here are step by step instructions.
1. Take unit to lake and find a place with no fish. (if you can't find a place on the lake with no fish, you did not need the unit to start with)
2. Turn on unit and adjust sensitivity to 1 then begin to turn sensitivity up until you just start to barely see stuff in the water column, then back it down 1 notch.
3. If you make this adjustment in 10 feet of water or less, turn switchfire off. If in deeper that 10 feet turn switch fire on unless you are seeing too much stuff in the water column.
4. Drive boat around lake while watching the sonar. When you see a blob start to appear, drop a buoy.
5. Return to buoy and drop jig down to depth of blob. If a crappie bites, it was a fish, or fish in structure if said blob appears to be connected to the bottom. (I hope this sentence was clearer to you than it was to me.)
6. If fish do not bite the jig, tie on a minner and try it again.
7. If fish do not bite the minner, roll up buoy and find another blob.
There you go. A seven step plan to sonar fishing. (I shoulda been writing instructions for Humminbird)
Only kidding. They have some sure enough experts up there.
BTW Jerry Blake is one of us.
