Default Spider Rigging and Long lining on the Gulf of Mexico

We started out pushing and hovering over structure in 180 feet of water and then ended up long lining past oil rigs. We caught fish after fish and had to throw em all back. I felt like I was fishing on Sardis! (red snapper season was closed) I want a head boat so bad! I had a blast and can't wait to go back.

That deep water fishing with heavy gear on a group charter was'nt my cup of tea. I did it last year in Florida and Red Snapper was closed season. Great experience going out too far to see land. Did you get sea sick at all? Great post. Did you not catch any Mingo snappers or Trigger fish?

The family and I like that salt water fishing. We haven't had much success on the party boats, but until the charters got so expensive, it was a blast. Good to see you got your pole bent and had some fun. Don't over look the beach fishing. Some good fishing has been doin the Arkansas thang offa the beach.

I love salt water fishing, I usually do the walk on private charters, and not the party boats. Over the years caught tarpon, bonefish, king mackeral, snapper. Can't do it much, just to expensive. I would have loved to have lived on the coast and worked for fishing charters.
