Default In The Trenches with Grand Son/Dark Angel Wounded In Action/Lake Nimrod/7-18-12

5:00 AM in the morning and my Five year old Grand Son Kaiden got up with ease and a fire in his eyes that said let's go get em Gram Pa.
We made the hour long drive to Lake Nimrod. Lanched at the Dam Cove boat ramp by 6 AM. We were the only ones at the ramp. Kaiden said as I launched Gram Pa this cove looks good and I said I agree son let's try it. We ended up catching 20 good fish trolling from the boat ramp to the River drop off. Stright minnow rigs and Chart tubes tipped with minnows were the ticket. Well the bite dies down at 10:00 AM and my Grandson said time to move and put the Sport Brella up. We moved out to a main lake river Drop off and proceeded to catch 20 more good fish. All fish were caught fishing 7-8 feet inj 12-13 feet deep. My little Grand Son hits the spider rig six pole set up as good as any five year old ive ever seen. Baiting his own hook setting his depth and fighting in fish. About his fifth fish he set the hook and said Gram Pa this is a good one. As I looked at him lifting the rod all I saw was big slab rolling... he shouted Grand Pa get the Net!!! LOL. A 16 inch 2.2 lb nice one. While we were catching one after another a good wind came up and lifted my sport brella out of it's holder and punctured my passenger side bench seat, I have now learned to be very careful of that pointed end on the sports brella and very glad no one was sitting in the seat. The Dark Angel was hit hard and wounded today in action. But I would not trade it for the world not to have this day with my Grand Son and we were limited out by 1:00PM and heading home. Tight Lines... Oh ya any body know a good way to repair boat seat vinal???
