If the whole family is going to fish together then a "toon" is the way to go. If it is mainly you and 1 or 2 boys than go with a aluminum "deep V". Nothing less than a 1860. Beaver is a big lake with Big thunder storms and waves, you need a safe boat that can handle big water. I think Creekslick has the perfect boat for Beaver, go check it out. IMO
Everybody has their likes and dislikes about all kinds of boats. I still think now more than ever you can get a really good deal on used boats off all kinds.
