Default Hot Day on Lake Nimrod

We went to Lake Nimrod on Saturday the 23rd. It was a Really Hot One. God does have a sence of Humor.. we stopped at Kings to get a pound of Minnows and noticed a bad place on one of the trailer tires. We made it to Perry and found a small tire place that had two trailer tires. We got to the lake and had lunch. Finally made it on the lake about 11am. We slathered on the sunscreen and fished till about 2. We took a swim break to cool off, re-slathered the sunscreen and till 8pm. We ran out of minnows..We were using our new pole holders and had 9 poles in the water. Rachel caught several doubles about 12 -14' deep in 20' water. We caught a bunch but only kept everything over 10" except for the two the wife killed... We had one that was 14" and counted 31 on the tailgate. Pictures below.

I didn't recognized that it was you're post Jerry. Jim-Bob told me on the phone a while ago about it. That's sure enough a nice catch. We had a small turn-over in the river channel in the main part of the lake about a week or so ago. Killed a few fish but not too many. We seem to be doing better on Corp piles farther away from the river right now. Bob and I kept 22 this morning but they were pretty decent fish. VT and his wife limited out trolling over by the mountain.

    Later,
    Dave
