    Default Friendly folks on Conway

I pulled up at the ramp just after daylight this morning, the sun was just barely peeking over the trees. I was looking forward to having the lake to myself so I could sink a couple of tree limbs that I have been saving for just such an occasion. After I put my gear in the boat and undid my straps, I looked up and here comes a local that must have saw me coming in with the brush in my boat. "Here we go," I said to myself!
I decided to wait awhile to sink the brush, so I pulled out the old trusty B&M 10' and jigged around a couple of old brush piles I had found a couple weeks ago. I immediately landed a 2 pounder and another nice keeper, with an audience about 75 yards away! After leaving that spot, I moved to another brush pile and guess who shows up?
Well, I finally dedided to talk to the guy and come to find out, I was mostly fishing his brush piles! After I realized what a jerk I was, I told him where I was planning on sinking the brush and he pointed me in the direction of about 7 or 8 more hot spots! Thanks to him I ended up with a pretty nice limit and a good knowledge of where to go next time i'm in that area. Thank God for locals and giving them the patience to deal with guys like me!

Yes sir there's nice folks out there and sinking brush can be a lot of work, as you know. I'm already excited about this Winter doing some sinking. I've done it before with minimal success but this time I'm hoping to sink the mother load! Tired of fishing the same old places.

Weren't you thinking about sinking privy hedges? That's mostly what this guy has and let me tell you, they hold some #'s.

We were fishing open water yesterday with one boat in the area. Whenever we would pick up a couple or a decent fish we would toss out a marker buoy and go about 40 to 50 yds and turn around to go back through the same area. This guy would cross right in front of us and go right beside the buoy each time. Apparently, he was GPSing each time that we threw out a buoy. I didn't have a problem with that at all but we would have to slow down to let him get out of our way!
We were both still courteous and had no problems and he eventually moved off.

Yes Sir, dads got an over abundance of them and even though I took the husky to them last Winter they grow like crazy and with all them limbs should be excellent. Course you really can't fish down in them, gotta stay just above or outside them suckers. I figured even if they don't stand upright all those limbs should allow them to still sit up off the bottom more. I plan on sitting them in that range from say 15'-22' or so in hopes of them sticking up off the bottom about 4' or so. Can't sink them near the channel or they may wash out, don't wanna sink them where everyone can see you fishing them either. Some coves have always held crappie while others have not so gotta keep that in mind, lot to think about. I was just wondering if anyone had ever sank Privit hedges or not?

RoflNice choice of words! You can tell he's had a lot of practice. I hope you didn't show that stringer off too much, i had him convinced the fish had migrated!
