I've done it when they are real deep on Ouachita like 35-45 fow. I'll put a 1/4-1/2 oz bell sinker on the bottom and then tie a jig or two up the line. More than anything it just helps get my bait down and keep it there especially on windy days.

I have done this in the dead of winter when there is a strong shad die off, but I use 2 zoom flukes like you would use for bass. Usually in a albino shad color, I have caught some sure nuff monster slab crappie with this technique, but have found it to be most productive during shad kills.

I've done it. And wore em out with a minner. Haven't tried it in a few years, but it definitely works.
That's what I was thinking never tried it but put me a minnow or even two on and wait lol!
a friend of mine does that on Lake Catherine and always catches the fire out of'em
With them new drop shot rigs, it should be easy to get a two rig goin, or maybe even three if your fishing deep enough. I always used two.
