Default Help on Fishing the Arkansas River

    Fellas and Ladies,

My grandparents have a condo in Little Rock on the Arkansas River. I could fish off of their bank, but I am clueless to what I could even catch...any ideas?

The condos are right by the Allltel headquarters on the river.

    thanks,

    justin

Your best bet there would probably be catfish. Use anything from shad , worms ,stink bait , chicken liver , or any of the other thousands of catfish baits. Good luck.:D

Theres some good catfishing right down where those condos are. I would expect you could catch some other game fish as well arround all the wood pillars that line that bank by those condos. We used to pull some nice bass off the down stream side of those pillars by pitching jigs and worms. I am sure crappie also haunt that same cover.

    Good luck

    Fellers,

I went w/ the brother down to the river where I said I was going. We caught 6 catfish. There were tons of bream, just too small to mess with. We had a heckuva good time. We had to do some serious acrobatics to get down to the river.

    Justin,

Glad to hear that you got a few....any slabs? I was up on the Arkansas River a LONG ways from where you were last w/e too. I ended up going to the Arkansas River up above Ponca City, OK (north of OKC) right on the OK/KS border....caught a few over 60 lbs, and the rest were about 15-25 range, all HUGE flatheads and blues, the gar were spawning, made trotlines a pain in the rear, oh well. good job....later, caleb
