I agree, because of lack of and scattered cover in Maumelle the PVC attractors are effective, but weren't that effective a year ago. Suppose they have acquired the amount of algae necessary and of course where they are located makes a big difference, hence some are much better than others. Location, location, location, like with deer stands. If I had my druthers I'd choose wood over PVC but rules being what they are I'm glad they dropped the PVC in the lake, it's starting to produce. All this talk has me wanting to go fishin. The lake is 15 minutes from home depending on stop lights, I'm outta here.
Hold on now NR, I didn't say it wouldn't work elsewhere, I just said it was unusually effective at Maumelle due to lack of other cover. I don't think fish prefer it to natural cover, but I think any cover will outfish NO cover any day. Also, be careful inviting me over your way bc I will show up!
What day is good for you?

Thanks for the report Ben. I will probably be fishing Maumelle more than anywhere this year due to the conveinence. I may concentrate on those bream and learn where the crappie spots are that way. I am still having troubles converting the way points to my GPS. The new map has the correct "style" I guess you call it for wayponts that siutes mine. I just havn't had time to manually enter them and go find them.

DP, I would suggest you use the new map, and go tackle a few spots at a time. Just pick a couple of places and enter them manually each trip, and give them a try. I feel like some fish are setup in the summer pattern, but some are still a bit shallower in a post spawn pattern. If I remember, you like to pull crankbaits. The only tough part about that on Maumelle is that except for a few places on the lake, the fish are going to set in 16-25 feet for most of the summer due to the thermocline. I will send you a PM with some juicier details!

All I can say is when I fish wood like Bordella, Oak, or some type of hard wood be it natural or pallets. It seems to always out fish PVC pipe structures. I hardly ever do as good around sunken ceder or xmas trees either. Some say the sap is toxic to the fish others say the limbs are packed to close together for fish to make use of them. So for me i like hard wood cover first and foremost, PVC/metal second and ceder or pines last. Just my pecking ordor. Where legal for me just drag a big ole limb from a dead oak tree or Iron wood tree out and sink at a location of your choice. Lots of dead trees around the lakes we fish.
