I heard they eat pretty good but have a little lemon whang.
Some amazing things can happen on the water. If it turned out to be good luck, I'm going after the bird seed to sprinkle in my boat.

I was fishing one of my favorite kickbacks by myself off the Mississippi River (aka "The Golden Muddy",LOL) Memorial Day when this beautiful little yellow bird decided to visit. He first lit on the end of one of my trolling rods and just sat there for a minute or so watching me fish. I remembered Crappie Pro's butterfly from a while back so I thought this must definitely be a good sign....maybe even a better sign than a butterfly! He hopped over to another rod on the other side and sat there for a little bit. All this time I'm thinking that there is no way this bird is going to sit there long enough for me to find the camera app on my phone and take it's picture. I finally decided to give it a try anyway and if he flew I hadn't lost anything..... He hopped down the rod and lit on the front of the boat about two feet from me, then he hopped onto the trolling motor (which was fast trolling spinners at 1.6 mph!). He liked the trolling motor and even got down into the cubbyhole behind the electronics. I was beginning to think he was looking for a nesting spot. Finally he hopped onto one of the rods just in front of the reel for a few seconds then flew off. I just know I missed a 3# Crappie while mesmerized with this bird but it was well worth it.....I hadn't ever experienced anything like that on the water before and thoroughly enjoyed it!!! I also did happen to see lots of friends and Crappie.comers while on the river lake that I hadn't seen for a while. I had a great time visiting with and fishing beside Luvin.fishin from Lake Village who I hadn't seen in a while and wasn't able to make it to the recent camp. He was killin' 'em as usual!!! Also ran into a whole bunch of Hamburg buddies who were also loaded down with fish coming out. It was a great time on the water!

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.
