dblevens - i do ok fishing any kind of eddy or slack water behind cypress or anything that is making slack water just below an outside of the current. they wont be in that current. its tough to do when you are ready to fish but i use a handheld gps and ease up or down river looking for those above mention spots and mark them. once i feel ive got plenty of areas marked to go back an fish i start in. its worked well for me unless i already have go to places but you cant have enough of em. hope i helped. whats the river color look like lately? its low but holding steady. i may be fishing it this weekend just not sure yet...

The river looks good. And yeah, its really low. But the water color is good. Theres lots of tops over there, but most of em are in the direct current. Tough fishing.

I ride on the river looking for slack water but usually dont crappie fish in the main channel. Some say they do good. I've been wondering about that too.
