Default From Toadsuck to Fourche La Fave - Asking the experts

I've been fishing this stretch of the river for a couple years now...in the fall and winter, I've been able to catch'em in a couple of predictable spots...behind jetty, in some of the backwater down around Fourche (which there really isn't that much backwater on this stretch)...
But, when it warms up...I just can't seem to ever find'em. So I'm interested to hear what you folks think...

Are they in there? I've fished the jeddies....the deeper holes behind the jeddies....but just cannot catch crappie in there...
There are some flats where there is some current but still (4-5 fow or shallower) ....and I have seen some huge shad schools on those flats.
I've single pole fished those flats (less than the jeddies)....but I've wondered if you could spider rig the flats? ....
Any way....I love the river...and it's awful convienient to my house.....but it skunks me once it warms up.
That section of the river is somewhat of a long channel.....not a lot of structure...

I think crappie are in there. Would be interested to hear what you guys think....

Can't catch crappie there either. There is one or two jetties with big backwater behind it.....but water has to be right. It hasn't been 'right' very much for many years.

Since 1980 I've caught a magrillion bass on plastic worms on those rip rap jetties. But I do best when there is NO FLOW....contrary to most folks way of looking at it. I've sat in middle of river waiting on the spinner bait and crank bait fisherman to leave a point, then go in and catch five or six. They are on the very bottom in the rocks, and hard to stay in the 'zone' if there is much flow. But the dang AGFC has that stupid length limit......so there are tons of 14" fish stacked up. They eat good! But you can't keep 'em.

If you want crappie, go on the other side of Toad Suck and fish backwater. There's tons of it that direction.

There are several areas such as Beaver Dam Island which I used to Bass fish that might hold some. There are some deep spots behind some Islands on north side too. Ever been in Plummerville cutoff about Cadron settlement park?

Ive always caught more fish this time of year on the up river side of Toad Suck Dam. Some of my favorite spots are now sanded in I can't get into. Ust to catch em pretty good back behind the island and old river channel just a little up stream and across from Bigalow access but the river hast to be up allot more nowaday's to get in there as the entry there is getting worse and worse about being sanded in as the years pass. Sad...but great for the land owners they will soon have thier very own private lakes and some do already and even sader to think they will probly never even be fished agian.
