    Default New Fisherman

    Hey all,

I just posted my intro post on the main board here:

    http://www.crappie.com/gr8vb3/showthread.php?t=21371

I will be doing most of my crappie fishing at Lake Ouachita. And some bream and bass as well.

    Any advice is well taken.

I actually only have spincast rods right now.

    Justin

Hey OF, welcome aboard. I primarily fish Ouachita, too. Pulled a nice 3 - 3.5 lb bass out last weekend. I heard the brim are hot right now. Maybe I'll see ya out there!

Hey man welcome to crappie.com. I fish Ouachita myself and I also have a boat in a slip over there. What marina do you keep yours at?

    hey guys

i was at ouachita this weekend. fished for some bream. i did ok, but i still havn't gotten one of those days where you just pull them in all day. i know this sounds rookie because im new, but do you guys have the problem of having those punk little ole bream eating your crickets before the big juicy ones do?

you guys use much else but crickets for bream?

Yeah, the little ones are more aggressive and faster, too, I guess. You can try to play keep away, if you can see them. I usually switch to a bigger hook to keep the little ones off, but they'll still pick the cricket off. And sometimes more weight will sink it past the little ones fast enough to get it in front of the bigger ones.
