Default Hitting the Ground Running/Lake Dardanelle

Went to Dardanelle started about 2:00 PM spent 3 hours marking new brush piles, some of which my friend Don Blakely showed me the day before and some of which i found on my own. Anyway's right about 5PM i decided to fish this one long stretch of Brush part of which Don showed me but I had no ideal how long it was. It seemed endless with one fantastic brush pile popping up after another. It was classic as I could see the crappie blue dots on my depth finder all around the brush all along the line. I probly caught 30 keepers plus in two hours but just kept some to cook for my wife for Mothers Day. I wont disclose it's location, cos I know Don Guides on it LOL. But what a great spot, I am convinced you could start on one end of this thing and limit every time this time of year and not haft to go anywhere else. If you find yourself in a boat with me on Dardanelle and I really like you I may show you where it is but you got to promise not to let Don know I told you. HAHA!!!

Congrats on the catch. I talked to don on Friday afternoon. He called to say he shipped my rods. He is a very stand up guy and you can tell he knows his stuff. I'm definately gonna give him a holla and go on a guided trip.

We are catching fish from 8-15 foot deep along drop offs with 10-11 feet being the best depth, using 1/8th to 1/4oz jig heads spanky and 3 inch bright colored soft plastics, at times tipping with a minnow or nibble works well.

Thanks Russell I will check those steps here in my local river area. Learning a new area by yourself can be challenging
