I have fished it in winter, but didn't do too great. I want to try to get back out there, but I have too many places closer tot he house.

    It is DEEP in spots.

take some minnows and slipcorks. watch for the logs coming off the banks, and most points have a brushpile behind them. 8 to 15 feet of water.

Hope the road don't beat you and your boat to death on the way in. Last time I was there the road in was BAD ruff. Only been hunting up there.

Let us know how you do.

I've hesitated to post on this one because I don't like branding all folks with the sins of others. I'm sure this only pertains to a few in that area but on two occasions in past years I've found the road to Winona sprinkled with roofing nails. I've also experienced this on other dirt roads in the area during deer season. I've gotten dirty looks from what I assume are locals at the lanch point causing me to fish near by my parked vehicle rather than exploring. I used to fish there all night on Fridays during the summer and caught lots of fish but have decided its not worth the trouble.

Word from the wise about that Lake..There's been several truck's stolen and broken into this year, boat trailers stolen, its a bad area and it full of mercury warnings at the ramp. Takes 30 minutes to drive 6 miles,You will tear something up on that pot hole trip, be it your trailer or ? Been there twice last time my spare got stolen from my truck and my trailer, they cut it with cuttersPass it up if you have any brain.Make the trip on to nimrod.
